About Three Black Spots
If we were making a one line pitch to Hollywood, this book is ‘Snoopy meets Eloise’.
Yoda lives his life between Bombay, Europe and New York, and makes an easy transition from curry to caviar. From Flora Fountain to Fifth Avenue, he’s woven his magic. He is our 14 year old, nine and a half pound Shih Tzu with a natural talent for happiness, and the ability to bring a smile to people’s faces. His needs are few, ours many. We have learned much from him, and he has been careful not to reciprocate.
Yoda has been on the Concorde over 50 times. He has ‘dined’ at Michelin 3 star restaurants, and Applebee’s. The saddler at Hermes in Paris fitted him out personally for a leash and harness. He has been ‘tasting’ in France, and truffle hunting in Italy. He nearly died from a tick bite in India, and when he fell down a flight of stairs at our home in Bombay. He was almost evicted from the Trump Tower by the Donald.
Each chapter is short, stand-alone, and centered round our experiences with him. The tone is unsentimental, the wit is dry. Yoda is not a cartoon figure, and he does not speak in tongues. He is a sentient being, who is just content to be.
This book’s time is now. Dogs rule today. Newspaper stories about dogs who dine out, magazine features about dog friendly hotels and airlines, banks that welcome your pooch, at least 12 Dog magazines at last count, Marley and Me, A Dog’s Life in Provence.
Yoda’s story is a work in progress, because we have new experiences with him every day. New fun with him, and new chapters for the book.
We will be ‘publishing’ this book on our blog one chapter a day for the next 90 days. Our goal is to find a really smart agent with a heart who will fall in love with this book, and then pitch it to a publisher who will see that this is going to be the feel-good book of the first decade of the new millenium ( perhaps that is overstating the case, but a little bit of exaggeration never seems to hurt)
